About the project
This work originated from a simple question: who was the true pioneer of animated film?
After a brief research, I came across this still little-known figure, whose story deeply moved me. This led to the decision to create a short commemorative documentary about his tragic life. It revisits the cut-out and video collage techniques (as in Goodbye, My Friend), but in a digital version. The project was directed by me and developed by a team of three people, in collaboration with the Musée Grévin in Paris and the cultural association Les Amis d’Émile Reynaud.
The video was selected for the Best Austrian Animation Film Festival 2025 in the Student Works category.
